The Summer Sizzler…Sizzlin’ Once Again!

August 29, 2012

The 2012 Summer Sizzler was a huge success!

Nearly 450 early childhood professionals attended the 9th Annual Summer Sizzler Training Conference on Saturday, August 25, 2012.

The sellout event provided a fantastic opportunity for early childhood professionals to earn state mandated training hours

Topics ranged from science in the classroom to recognizing signs of abuse and neglect. Four track options were available for participants to choose from: Infant/Toddler, Preschool, Administrative, and General/All Ages.

Keynote speaker, Allan Johnson, kept listeners laughing with his hilarious anecdotes and conveyed the impact teachers had on him as a young child. He offered advice for caregivers dealing with at-risk children and reminders that the smallest bit of encouragement can propel students into a successful future. During the session, listeners were out of their chairs dancing and interacting. There was never a dull moment!

We were able to offer this conference at an affordable rate to attendees thanks to the support of our sponsors. Without their continued support, many child care professionals could not afford to attend this training. In addition, we were thrilled that John Hooser, from The M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation, was able to join us for the day!

(Mehr Cox, CCG Vice President of Marketing and Community Outreach, John Hooser, The M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation, and Tori Mannes, CCG President and CEO)

ChildCareGroup Joins Dallas Early Childhood Leaders to ‘Honor the Profession’

June 4, 2012

ChildCareGroup and leaders in the early childhood development field came together to recognize Dallas-area early childhood professionals for their extraordinary talents and dedication.  The “Honoring the Profession” awards ceremony and dinner was held Thursday, May 31st at the Dallas Marriott Suites Market Center.  The special evening’s theme was “Teachers Change the Future!” celebrating the outstanding work of early childhood professionals and was sponsored by IBM.

Hundreds of professionals attended the event, recognizing those who play an instrumental part in the educational development of children from birth to age 5.

“Early childhood professionals have a profound impact on the children they serve, greatly affecting their present and future development,” said ChildCareGroup President/CEO, Tori Mannes.  “We want everyone to become more aware of the significance of this profession.  The work they do is so incredibly important – not just to the children served, but to our society’s future.”

A Sizzlin’ Event

August 29, 2011

More than 400 child care professionals from the Dallas area attended the 8th Annual Summer Sizzler on Saturday, August 27. This training conference for child care professionals covered the latest hot topics in early childhood education.

Here at ChildCareGroup, we were (once again) excited about the opportunity to train professionals and improve early childhood education in our community!

Keynote speaker LaDonna Gatlin entertained the crowd with songs and hilarious stories of her experience raising children, and more importantly, expressed the profound impact caregivers have in children’s lives.

A fantastic group of speakers presented topics including health and fitness in the classroom, early childhood education, curriculum planning, advocacy, legal and business advice and many more.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship by Kimberly-Clark, the conference was offered at an affordable rate to child care providers in North Texas, relieving the financial burden from many individuals who could not attend otherwise. Without the continued support of Kimberly-Clark, this event would not be possible. Thank you!
