Happy Holidays!

December 22, 2011

Here at ChildCareGroup, the holidays are definitely happy. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends in the community. Here are just a few examples…

Alliance Data officially adopted our Anderson Child Development Center and hosted a holiday party. CLICK HERE to view pictures. We are so thankful for companies who invest in our centers long-term. (Find out more about our Adopt-a-Center Program.)

Santa Claus made an appearance at our Landauer Child Development Center! Each child received a new stuffed animal, donated by Nationwide associates (distributed by United Way of Metropolitan Dallas), as well as adorable new pajamas donated by the Dallas Woman’s Forum.

The children were excited to see Santa!

Nap time with the new stuffed animals AND new pajamas.

Ernst & Young volunteers came to our Bock Child Development Center and did some much needed yard work. Thanks for making Bock a welcoming place this holiday season!

In addition, the Highland Park HiLite Group adopted each child and purchased gifts from their holiday wish lists.

Our MLK Child Development Center was thrilled to get a donation from Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP to purchase toys! A parent dressed as Santa Claus and passed them out to the children.

Children in Room 6 decided it was better to give this holiday season. They conducted a food drive and donated items to the S.M. Wright Foundation. What a sweet reminder that this season is about giving, rather than receiving!

Parent participation is something we value and highly encourage at our child development centers. During the holidays at UMC, we had several outstanding parent volunteers. We cannot thank them enough!

Maria worked hard to collect toys for the children.

Mr. and Mrs. Murillo each contributed to the festivities. Elizabeth planned the holiday program and Sandro dressed as Santa Claus for the occasion!

Thanks to some very generous groups, we were able to give a toy to every child at our Centers.

Dallas Academy Student Council

Motion Industries, Inc.

Rebel Rousers Dance Club

Without the kindness of the people listed above, we could not have provided these special gifts and activities for our children.

Happy holidays from all of us at ChildCareGroup!

Thanksgiving & MCG

November 22, 2011

When MCG Group adopted our MLK Child Development Center, they meant it! We have been completely blown away by their generosity to our children and staff.

For our Thanksgiving lunch last week, they donated gift cards to help cover the cost of food…but that wasn’t all! Volunteers came to spend time with the children during lunch, including Mr. Greilich himself! After eating lunch, the children reminded volunteers to brush their teeth. Can’t forget that!

MCG, thanks for spending time with our children!

Can you believe ChildCareGroup is 110 years old?

November 9, 2011

People tell us that we don’t look our age, and we agree! Our outstanding staff members keep this organization on the cutting edge of early childhood education. Thanks to the generous support of our funding partners, our programs have adjusted and expanded over the last 110 years to meet the most relevant needs in our community.

On Saturday, November 5 we hosted a celebration to honor the people who have worked tirelessly to care for children in our community: Our Staff Members. In addition, Dallas Council Member, Dwaine Caraway, issued a proclamation, honoring ChildCareGroup for our outstanding contribution to the community. Thanks to many volunteers (including some from Baylor and MCG Group), the event was a huge success!

More than 250 people attended the event. It was a beautiful day!

There were plenty of games for the kids. Here is the pie eating contest. It was definitely a favorite!

Awards and honors were presented to staff members.
These ladies have each worked with us for 30+ years!

Here at ChildCareGroup, we’re looking forward to the next 110 years!

MLK Adopted by Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP!

October 26, 2011

Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP has adopted our MLK Child Development Center. They recenly volunteered at the MLK Fall Festival, where we presented them with a plaque to show our appreciation. Their commitment to our children makes a lasting impact!

to Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP

“We cannot thank Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP enough for their generosity to our center,” said Joy Campbell, Center Director. “They have given countless volunteer hours as well as much needed financial assistance. When our refrigerator broke, the MCG Group employees surprised us by collecting donations and purchasing a new one within a week!”

“But that’s not all,” Joy continued. “They also donated two bikes and gift cards to give as prizes at our first parent meeting in September. Because of that, there wasn’t an empty seat in the house! Parent participation is a key component of any good early childhood program. MCG Group’s generosity and presence in the center has been and continues to be invaluable. We can’t thank them enough!

ChildCareGroup offers local businesses the opportunity to invest in our children through the Adopt-A-Center program.  (Click Here for more information about adopting a center.) The companies that participate in this program provide vital support through volunteering and financial gifts.

Egg Hunt

April 28, 2011

MLK Child Development Center hosted an egg-citing morning of Easter festivities! Volunteers from Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP, the company that has adopted MLK, came to hide eggs, read books and do Easter crafts with the children. Everyone had a great time (despite the rainy weather), and the children can’t wait to see MCG next month!
